University of Sydney receives $18.4M to launch Quantum Australia Centre
The University of Sydney has been awarded $18.4 million by the Australian government to establish Quantum Australia, a new national center dedicated to advancing the country's quantum industry. This initiative aims to foster collaboration between academia and industry, and boost the development of quantum technologies.
EXO Biologics, a clinical-stage biotech company based in Liège, Belgium, has secured €16 million in Series A funding to advance its pioneering work with exosomes for therapeutic use. The funding includes €9 million from investors such as Noshaq, Founders, and Belgian Family Offices, with an additional €7 million in subsidies
The Hague-based Canopus, a pioneering drilling solutions platform, has secured a €3 million follow-up investment to further its innovative geothermal energy technology. This round was led by new investor Underground Ventures, alongside existing investors SHIFT and ENERGIQ, and was announced at the Global Geothermal Impact Summit 2024 in The Hague.
London-based Sorted, a pioneering recycling technology company, has successfully raised €1.9 million in a seed funding round led by Pi Labs. This investment aims to accelerate Sorted’s mission to make recycling processes more effective and sustainable, significantly reducing the volume of waste that ends up in landfills.
