UAE waste management firm Zero Carbon Ventures has announced the appointment of prominent Emirati businessman and member of Dubai’s ruling family, Sheikh Ahmed Mana Khalifa Al Maktoum, as its strategic equity investor and chairman of the board of directors. Additionally, the company has successfully closed its seed investment round, securing $5 million in capital. This investment will play a crucial role in advancing the company’s mission of promoting sustainable development, not only through COP28 but also in the future.

The company highlighted that the involvement of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Mana Khalifa Al Maktoum not only demonstrates his dedication to supporting Zero Carbon’s mission of delivering innovative decarbonization projects but also signifies the company’s heightened commitment to global sustainability initiatives on a substantial scale.

Regarding his new role, Sheikh Ahmed expressed his admiration for Zero Carbon’s vision, emphasizing the urgency of executing projects that address the world’s pressing sustainability challenges.

Sheikh Ahmed further disclosed that he has enlisted Zero Carbon to initiate the decarbonization of his Dubai real estate portfolio.
