Vilnius-based MELP, an employee engagement platform designed to improve workplace communication, recognition, and benefits, has secured €1.25M to accelerate international expansion.
The round was led by Coinvest Capital, which invested €800K, alongside several business angels. Coinvest Capital is a sovereign VC fund backed by the national development bank ILTE, EU funds, and private investors, with over €57M deployed across 49 startups to date.
Scaling engagement and well-being
Founded in 2022 by Robertas Šaltis, Vidmantas Šiugždinis, and Juozas Sargūnas, MELP helps employers boost motivation and reduce turnover by offering medical services, employee benefits, lifestyle perks, and protection tools — the four areas behind its name.
Its platform is already used by Ignitis Group, Nortal, Volvo Lithuania, Atea Baltic, IKI Lietuva (Rewe Group), Vilnius City Municipality, and more. Since its last round in early 2024, MELP has scaled from 16,000 to 68,000 users, growing revenues 2.5x. It also signed a pan-European deal with Affidea Group, giving 10,000+ employees across 15 countries access to the platform in 16 languages.
Next phase: UK expansion
With this fresh capital, MELP will double down on the UK market, targeting mid-size companies with frontline workers. The funds will also support new features, including AI-powered task automation, an interactive employee intranet, and its growing benefits marketplace, projected to reach €3M in sales in 2025.
“We’re not just expanding geographically — we’re evolving our product with AI to create smarter, more meaningful employee engagement,” said co-founder Robertas Šaltis.
Coinvest Capital’s managing director Viktorija Trimbel praised MELP’s adaptability:
“The MELP team has shown an ability to respond quickly to changing environments while seizing opportunities in nearby markets. With the right tools and vision, they’re well-positioned for the next leap.”
