Isometric, a London-based AI certification platform, has closed a $40M Series A led by AVP, formerly AXA Venture Partners, with participation from Plural, Lowercarbon Capital, and personal investment from Kleiner Perkins chairman John Doerr and Walter Kortschak.
The funding will be used to deepen Isometric’s AI certification technology and expand its platform across the $350B industrial certification market.
Addressing The Market Opportunity
AI, automation, and decarbonization are driving one of the largest industrial buildouts in decades. Every project that emerges from this wave must be certified against regulatory, safety, and sustainability standards before a buyer pays a premium, a regulator grants a permit, or an investor commits capital.
For decades, that process has been a structural bottleneck. Traditional third-party auditors spot-check a sample of available evidence and infer the rest, a process that typically takes months. Certification is also fragmented across dozens of registries and certifiers, each operating with its own methods, formats, and quality standards. Isometric was built to replace this with a single platform, held to a single standard, completing in hours what previously took months.
How The Technology Works
Isometric’s platform, Certify, uses AI agents to ingest and cross-check the full body of evidence behind a certification claim, spanning sensor readings, satellite data, supply chain records, and lab results. The system flags discrepancies automatically and routes the cases requiring expert judgment to human verifiers, replacing partial sample checks with complete coverage around the clock.
All certificates are published on a single public registry, bringing a fragmented landscape onto one platform with consistent standards and full transparency.
Growth And Market Traction
Isometric proved its technology in carbon removal, where it has become the largest certification company globally by contracted volume, having been engaged to certify over 16 million tonnes to date. The platform supports more than 200 industrial projects and counts Microsoft, Anglo American, JPMorganChase, and Boeing among its customers. Isometric was the first carbon removal certifier to receive accreditation from ICVCM, ICROA, and CORSIA, and employs the largest team of carbon removal scientists and engineers of any certifier in the market.
The company was founded in 2022 by Eamon Jubbawy, co-founder of Onfido, the AI-powered identity verification company that processed over one billion identities and identified 25 million fraudulent cases before its acquisition by Entrust for $650M. Jubbawy founded Isometric to apply the same combination of rigor and speed to environmental and industrial certification.
Expansion Plans
The Series A gives Isometric what the company describes as the strongest balance sheet of any certifier in carbon markets. The funding will accelerate expansion of its AI-enabled certification services beyond carbon removal into low-carbon energy, fuels, materials, and superpollutant reduction, broadening the platform across the full scope of the industrial certification market.
Looking Ahead
Eamon Jubbawy, Founder and CEO of Isometric, described what the platform makes possible for industrial companies: “For decades the certification industry faced a tradeoff between speed and rigor. Do it fast or do it right. With Isometric, industrial companies can get both. AI agents are here, and they’re making the certification process instant and invisible, unleashing the potential of the industrial economy.”
François Robinet, Managing Partner at AVP, explained the firm’s conviction behind leading the round: “Certification has always forced a choice between speed and rigor. Isometric has eliminated that compromise. Eamon and the team have built a genuinely category-defining company, and their agentic AI platform has the potential to transform certification across the industrial economy. We’re thrilled to partner with them as they scale that vision.”
