Over $6.5 trillion is invested in the world’s most innovative sectors and companies by private equity investors. However, most of these investors still use Excel spreadsheets to manage their portfolios.

French startup Edda recently raised $5.8 million in funding. The technology offers an alternative to Excel for venture capitalists and private equity investors. With Edda, investors can manage their portfolios in a transparent, efficient and safe way. The funding was provided by Mucker Capital, Plug and Play, FJ Labs, Arnaud Bonzom and Tony Fadell’s Future Shape fund— also known as the creator of the iPhone. The money will be used to further develop the product.

Edda was founded as Kushim VC in 2017. It’s a design-focused software application that contains deal flow, portfolio, LP and business community management features. Edda has administered over $22 billion worth of assets to date; it’s currently used by over 100 investment firms in 26 countries.

French startup Edda offers professional investors software that provides transparency, efficiency, and safety in their portfolios. It competes with Microsoft Excel for venture capitalists and private equity firms. Investors include Mucker Capital, Plug&Play, FJ Labs, Arnaud Bonzom and Tony Fadell’s Future Shape fund— better known as the creator of the iPhone. Edda was founded in 2017 as Kushim VC. It is a design-focused software that combines business community management, portfolio, deal flow and LP management into one product. Over 100 investment firms in 26 countries currently use Edda with over $22 billion in assets under administration.

Clemence Aglietta is the founder and CEO of Edda. He believes that the tools used to manage assets in the public markets are outdated. He created Edda to connect the different asset classes in a real-time visual management system. Aglietta says that Edda’s systems allow investors to see their layered investments and see their true value and impact. This is because Edda provides a new way to view assets that goes beyond simple financial gains.

Fabrice Grinda stated that Edda would help investors keep track of their deals and relationships. He’s a founding partner at FJ Labs and mentioned that venture capital and private equity have grown over the last decade. He also mentioned that these investment methods have grown in new corners of the economy and become the cornerstone of innovation funding. Grinda continued by stating that investors need game-changing collaborative tools like Edda to assist with their future investments. These tools are necessary because of an increasingly difficult investment environment.
