Barcelona-based deeptech company Xoople has officially launched out of stealth mode with €115 million in total funding to fuel the development of its Earth Intelligence platform, EarthAI.
The round was backed by a combination of public and private investors, including Spain’s CDTI (Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology) and AXIS (a VC subsidiary of Instituto de Crédito Oficial), positioning the startup as a key strategic asset in Spain’s innovation ecosystem.
Building the EarthAI platform for smarter planet-wide insights
Xoople’s EarthAI system processes real-time data about changes on the Earth’s surface and feeds it directly into enterprise AI systems. This machine-ready stream of Earth intelligence allows businesses and governments to make faster, data-driven decisions across sectors like agriculture, logistics, climate monitoring, and urban planning.
The platform enables pattern recognition, change detection, and forecasting using high-frequency Earth observation data. Xoople aims to address what it calls an “unmet global need” for actionable, trustworthy environmental intelligence. The company plans to enhance this capability with a dedicated satellite network to increase data volume and global reach.
Backed by top-tier investors and institutions
The funding marks one of the largest investments ever made through Spain’s Innvierte programme. CDTI President Teresa Riesgo described Xoople as a “cornerstone of Spain’s digital sovereignty,” while the Spanish Space Agency sees EarthAI as ushering in a new era for satellite data analytics.
Corporate partnerships are also central to Xoople’s strategy. The startup collaborates with Microsoft (providing Azure cloud support) and Esri, the leading geospatial software provider, to deliver AI-ready insights rooted in scientific rigor.
A new category: Earth Intelligence as a Service
CEO Fabrizio Pirondini called Xoople “the world’s first purpose-built Earth Intelligence company,” noting that its mission is to create dependable, real-time insights to help communities and companies manage an increasingly uncertain planet.
“Our system moves beyond images,” he said, “offering a dynamic, AI-integrated understanding of the Earth’s surface that can guide policy, logistics, environmental management, and more.”
With a platform already gaining traction and institutional backing from both the public and private sectors, Xoople is poised to define the emerging category of Earth Intelligence — and position Spain as a leader in AI-powered environmental technologies.
