Subbyx, a technology company focused on subscription-based commerce models, has raised €30 million in a Series A round led by Systemiq Capital, with participation from existing investor Azimut and venture debt from Flashpoint.

The funding brings the company’s total capital raised to €50 million and will support its expansion into new European markets.

What The Company Does

Founded in 2024, Subbyx develops infrastructure that enables businesses to transition from traditional ownership-based sales to subscription-based models. Its platform allows companies to offer products through recurring payment structures, shifting revenue from one-time transactions to ongoing customer relationships.

At the core of its offering is Subbyx Builder, an AI-powered system that manages the full subscription lifecycle. This includes converting products into subscription offerings, handling payments, and overseeing customer engagement throughout the product’s usage period.

The platform is designed to support flexible access to devices, including new, used, and refurbished products, allowing businesses to extend product lifecycles while offering consumers more adaptable purchasing options.

Market Context / Industry Background

The subscription economy is expanding across multiple sectors, driven by changing consumer preferences and a growing emphasis on access over ownership. This trend is particularly relevant in industries such as electronics, where product lifecycles are shortening and demand for flexibility is increasing.

Sustainability considerations are also reshaping business models, as companies look for ways to reduce waste and promote reuse. Subscription-based systems support circular economy principles by enabling products to be reused, refurbished, and redeployed across multiple users.

There is growing demand for infrastructure that can support these models at scale, particularly for companies shifting from transactional sales to recurring revenue streams.

Regulatory pressure and ESG commitments are reinforcing this transition, especially in Europe, where policies encourage more sustainable production and consumption patterns. Advances in digital infrastructure, including embedded finance and AI-driven analytics, are making it easier to manage subscriptions, track assets, and optimize customer lifecycles.

These dynamics are accelerating adoption while increasing the need for platforms that enable flexible, scalable, and data-driven commerce. Competitive pressure is also pushing companies to rethink how they engage with customers beyond the point of sale. Subscription models allow for continuous interaction, better data capture, and more personalized services, supporting stronger retention and long-term value creation.

At the same time, interoperability and integration capabilities are becoming critical, as companies seek solutions that can connect with existing systems and workflows. Providers that offer seamless integration, data transparency, and operational efficiency are better positioned to support long-term adoption and scalability across different industries.

Founder / Investor Commentary

Filippo Rocca, CEO and founder of Subbyx, described the company’s ambition as building an operating system for the access economy. He noted that the platform is designed to enable businesses to transition toward subscription-based models while responding to growing market demand for flexible consumption.

Rocca emphasized the role of infrastructure in supporting this shift, positioning Subbyx as a foundational layer for companies looking to adopt subscription-based strategies.

Growth Plans / Use Of Funds

The funding will be used to accelerate Subbyx’s international expansion, with Sweden identified as the first market outside Italy. The company is targeting regions with strong adoption of circular economy practices, aligning with its focus on sustainability and product reuse.

Additional investment will support the expansion of its device portfolio and further development of its platform, enabling broader adoption across industries and markets.
