Amsterdam-based SOUS has announced a €4 million seed funding round to accelerate the development of its AI-driven growth platform for independent restaurants and food businesses.
The round was led by seed + speed Ventures, with participation from PeakBridge, āltitude, Gekko Capital, and a group of experienced angel investors. The capital will be used to expand the company’s product and engineering teams, further develop its AI capabilities, and support international expansion across Europe, beginning with Germany.
Rethinking Growth For Independent Restaurants
SOUS is building a platform designed to support the entire customer journey, from initial discovery to transaction and long-term guest retention.
The company is addressing a structural shift in the restaurant industry, where customer discovery increasingly happens online through search engines, maps, social media, and AI-driven interfaces. At the same time, many restaurants still rely on fragmented tools and third-party platforms that capture customer data and charge high commissions.
SOUS aims to replace this fragmented landscape with a unified system that enables restaurants to manage their digital presence and growth more effectively.
AI Agents Driving End-To-End Growth
At the core of SOUS is a system of AI agents that continuously operate in the background to support restaurant operations.
These agents help businesses improve their visibility across digital platforms, drive traffic to their own channels, and convert that demand into direct orders and bookings. They also automate key functions such as marketing, brand management, and customer communication.
The goal is to give independent restaurants access to capabilities typically reserved for larger chains, without requiring dedicated teams for marketing, finance, or technology.
Unlocking New Revenue Streams
Beyond improving visibility and conversions, SOUS enables restaurants to diversify their revenue.
The platform supports additional channels such as takeaway, retail products, experiences, and subscription-based offerings. By enabling direct sales, restaurants can reduce reliance on intermediaries and retain control over customer relationships and data.
Early results demonstrate the potential impact. One restaurant increased its online revenue significantly without additional marketing spend, while also reducing operational costs through automation.
Integrating With Existing Restaurant Tech
Rather than replacing existing systems, SOUS integrates with tools already used by restaurants, including reservation platforms.
This allows businesses to adopt the platform without disrupting their current workflows, while benefiting from improved traffic, higher booking volumes, and better conversion rates.
By positioning itself as a growth layer on top of existing infrastructure, SOUS aims to become a central component of the restaurant technology stack.
Strategic Partnerships Fueling Adoption
SOUS is building partnerships across the hospitality technology ecosystem to accelerate adoption.
Through these integrations, restaurants can increase their visibility across digital channels and direct more traffic to their own booking and ordering systems. This creates value across the ecosystem, helping restaurants fill more seats, improve efficiency, and reduce dependency on third-party platforms.
Expanding Across Europe
With the new funding, SOUS plans to scale its team and expand into additional European markets, with Germany as its first major focus.
The company sees a broad opportunity across the region, as restaurants face similar challenges around digital transformation, customer engagement, and revenue optimisation.
