SkySelect, an aviation procurement technology company founded in Estonia, has secured $9 million in new funding to expand its AI-powered platform for sourcing aircraft parts.

The round was co-led by Verb Ventures and RockCreek, with participation from the SmartCap Green Fund, supported by the EU’s NextGenerationEU initiative, and existing investors Bain Capital Ventures and Lux Capital. The company plans to use the investment to enhance its procurement technology and expand its global team.

What The Company Does

SkySelect develops software that helps airlines and maintenance providers procure aircraft parts more efficiently.

The platform uses artificial intelligence to match parts requests from airlines and maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) providers with suppliers across a global network of vendors. By analyzing supplier inventories and market conditions in real time, the system identifies sourcing options designed to minimize cost, delivery time, and operational disruptions.

SkySelect’s technology enables organizations to automate procurement workflows and access a centralized marketplace for aircraft components. The system integrates with enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms to streamline procurement operations across supply chain and maintenance teams.

Since launching its platform, SkySelect reports processing more than $6 billion in transactions, including approximately $1.3 billion during 2025.

Market Context / Industry Background

The aviation industry relies on complex supply chains to maintain aircraft fleets and ensure operational reliability.

Procurement of aircraft components is often managed through fragmented systems and manual workflows, which can slow sourcing processes and increase operational costs. When aircraft are grounded due to missing parts—commonly referred to as aircraft-on-ground (AOG) events—airlines may face significant financial losses.

Industry estimates suggest that AOG incidents collectively cost airlines tens of billions of dollars each year. At the same time, airlines hold large inventories of spare parts to avoid operational disruptions, resulting in substantial capital tied up in excess stock.

Digital procurement platforms are increasingly being developed to improve visibility across supplier networks and reduce inefficiencies in aviation supply chains.

By enabling real-time sourcing and just-in-time procurement, these systems may help airlines reduce inventory levels while maintaining access to critical parts.

Founder / Investor Commentary

SkySelect CEO and co-founder Erkki Brakmann said the company’s platform was created to address inefficiencies in aviation procurement systems.

“Legacy procurement systems and processes are fundamentally broken,” Brakmann said.

He noted that airlines collectively spend tens of billions of dollars each year purchasing aircraft components while simultaneously maintaining large reserves of spare parts.

“Our AI-driven platform directly addresses these inefficiencies,” Brakmann said, adding that the company’s growth reflects increasing demand for technology that modernizes aviation supply chains.

Growth Plans / Use Of Funds

SkySelect plans to use the new funding to expand the capabilities of its AI-powered procurement tools and improve sourcing optimization across its supplier network.

The company also intends to grow its workforce across product development, data science, and customer support teams.

SkySelect currently operates offices in the United States, India, and Estonia, and the company plans to expand operations across these locations as it scales its platform.

In addition to product development, the company aims to continue expanding its customer base. SkySelect reports adding approximately one major airline or aviation customer each month, with recent clients including JetBlue, Sun Country Airlines, Air Transport Services Group, Widerøe, and Vueling.
