Simpplr, an employee experience platform powered by AI, has announced that it raised $70 million in Series D funding. Sapphire Ventures led the investment with the participation of Norwest Venture Partners, Tola Capital, and Salesforce Ventures.
The total funding now amounts to over $131 million. The new funding will be used to invest in the growth and innovation of the employee experience platform. Simpplr’s rapid growth reflects the recognition that today’s work-life complexity requires a different approach to connect, engage, and support every employee.
The platform is used by more than one million people worldwide, delivering increased engagement and measurable productivity gains for companies in North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific. Simpplr’s CEO, Dhiraj Sharma, said the funding marks a significant moment for companies, highlighting the importance of employee experience powered by AI and its impact on business performance.
Jai Das, President and Partner at Sapphire Ventures, stated that engagement is a key pillar of a positive employee experience, and the startup makes it easy for employees to feel connected to their employers and each other. This fosters a sense of belonging that ultimately drives performance. As companies prioritize employee needs, Simpplr’s mission to transform the work experience for every employee through better engagement, regardless of location, is essential for any company focused on business growth.
Promod Haque, Managing Partner at Norwest Venture Partners and Simpplr board member, added that Simpplr continues to rapidly grow and ensures success for its customers across more than 30 industries and globally. As companies increasingly focus on digital employee experiences, Simpplr’s platform helps companies retain and attract talent with real-time people insights and personalized experiences. Haque expressed excitement in continuing to support Simpplr’s mission by investing additional capital.
The company has made several executive hires in addition to securing new funding. Tim Lambert has been appointed as Chief Revenue Officer, Bala Kasiviswanathan as Chief Product and Customer Experience Officer (previously Chief Product Officer of Tidal | X, formerly Google X), Parag Kulkarni as Chief Technology Officer (formerly Senior Vice President of SaaS Engineering at Nutanix), Aykut Firat as Chief Data Scientist (former Chief Data Scientist at Brandwatch), and Paige Leidig as Chief Marketing Officer (former Chief Marketing Officer at NetBase Quid).
Upon completion of this funding round, Jai Das, President and Partner at Sapphire Ventures, will join their Board of Directors as part of the transaction.
