SereneDB, a Berlin based database startup, has raised $2.1 million in pre seed funding.
The round was led by Entourage and High Tech Gründerfonds and supports the company’s plan to introduce a new class of real time search and analytical infrastructure for modern data and AI systems.
Building a unified engine for live data and deep analysis
Traditional search and analytics systems were designed for static information and struggle to cope with constant updates, rapid deletions and complex queries. This forces teams to combine multiple tools and pipelines, slowing down insights and increasing operational fragility.
SereneDB is merging live search and analytical processing inside one system. It combines a high performance search engine with modern analytical execution under PostgreSQL, supports correct real time ingestion and delivers complex results in milliseconds. Users and AI agents can query fully up to date information while companies reduce tooling and complexity by relying on familiar SQL interfaces.

Backed by deep technical experience
The founders previously built one of the fastest enterprise grade C++ search libraries. They are now applying that experience to create a purpose built database engine for next generation applications. The funding will support core development, community adoption and continued investment in an open source strategy that invites developers to shape the platform.

Andrey Abramov, co founder of SereneDB, says the team has been pursuing real time analytics for more than a decade and now has the resources to bring this technology to market.
