E-commerce tech company Remark has secured $16 million in Series A funding, led by Inspired Capital.
The round also included participation from Stripe, Neo, Spero Ventures, Shine Capital, and Visible Ventures. This brings Remark’s total raised to $27 million.
Blending humans and AI for better shopping conversion
The firm offers a unique model: thousands of accredited human experts help shoppers via live chat and train AI personas that are available 24/7. The result is a dynamic shopping assistant experience, tailored to each user. Clients using Remark have reported up to a 10% boost in net revenue.
New pricing model and rapid growth
The startup recently shifted to a SaaS pricing model based on web traffic instead of commissions. The platform now hosts over 60,000 active experts and has quadrupled its revenue since its last funding round. Top experts are earning between $60K–$70K per year.
Aiming to replicate in-store conversion rates
The company’s broader goal is to mimic the high conversion rates of in-person retail (30–35%) on the web, where typical rates are just 1.5%. Its software powers product recommendations, dynamic Q&As, and personalized content — all grounded in expert input.
