Reckon.ai, a Portugal-based retail tech company, has raised €5.1 million in a new funding round led by Iberis Capital to accelerate the international expansion of its AI-powered smart locker platform.
The company offers self-service retail solutions for convenience stores, canteens, and workplace food hubs.
From frictionless checkout to autonomous retail units
Reckon.ai’s core product is a computer vision-enabled smart locker that lets customers purchase products without interacting with staff — using AI-based object recognition, dynamic pricing, and real-time inventory monitoring. The system integrates with retailers’ back-end platforms for automated restocking and data-driven merchandising.
The startup claims its platform reduces operating costs while improving convenience and customer experience, especially in urban, 24/7, or unmanned retail locations.
Expanding across Europe and beyond
With the new funding, Reckon.ai plans to ramp up deployments across Western Europe, scale up manufacturing, and deepen integrations with food and retail chains. The round follows growing adoption of contactless and automated retail experiences in sectors ranging from airports to corporate campuses.
The company was founded in Porto and is part of a growing wave of SaaS and computer vision startups in Southern Europe targeting physical retail innovation.
