Plato, an AI-driven operating system built for wholesale distributors, has raised $14.5 million in a seed funding round led by Atomico, with participation from existing investor Cherry Ventures.

Founded by Benedikt Nolte, Matthias Heinrich Morales, and Oliver Birch, Plato develops AI-native software that automates key workflows across sales, quoting, and ERP operations.
The platform structures and enriches data from legacy ERP systems, reducing manual work and enabling sales teams to act more proactively. By transforming fragmented operational data into actionable insights, Plato helps distributors identify revenue opportunities while streamlining internal processes.
Core features include AI-driven sales intelligence to detect customer risks and growth potential, automation of repetitive tasks such as order processing and internal communication, and industry-specific functionality designed for wholesalers managing large and complex product portfolios.
CEO Benedikt Nolte said the company was founded after experiencing the operational inefficiencies of distribution businesses firsthand. In collaboration with experienced technologists, the team set out to redesign industry workflows and build an AI operating system tailored specifically to distributors, beginning with intelligent sales automation.

Plato reports early traction, having secured several large European distributors as customers, with average contract values in the six-figure range.
The new capital will be used to expand the platform into additional areas, including customer service and procurement, while also supporting international growth.
