Document automation platform PandaDoc has raised €5 million in funding from Portuguese venture capital firm Índico Capital Partners to support its next phase of growth in Europe.

PandaDoc was founded in 2013 by CEO Mikita Mikado and CTO Serge Barysiuk with the goal of fixing inefficiencies in how businesses create and manage documents, initially focusing on the needs of smaller companies.

Over time, the company evolved into a full-scale document automation provider, expanding internationally and broadening its product scope. In 2021, PandaDoc reached unicorn status, surpassing a $1 billion valuation.

A Digital Hub For Business Documents

Today, PandaDoc delivers a comprehensive platform that enables businesses to create, send, sign, and manage documents entirely online. Its tools support use cases ranging from proposals and contracts to quotes, invoicing, and payments.

The platform is widely used across sales, operations, HR, legal, and revenue teams, helping organisations replace manual, paper-based workflows with streamlined digital processes.

The firm integrates with popular CRM systems, payment solutions, and productivity tools, positioning itself as a central layer for document-driven business operations.

Lisbon As A Strategic European Base

The company operates a major office in Lisbon, which functions as its European hub and plays a central role in product development and regional operations.

The company plans to further expand its team in Portugal, reinforcing the country’s position as a key base for its European activities.

Focus On AI And Product Innovation

According to CEO Mikita Mikado, the partnership with Índico Capital Partners aligns closely with PandaDoc’s ambition to accelerate innovation in artificial intelligence.

The company says the new investment will be used to advance AI-driven features within its platform and to support team growth in Lisbon, benefiting from Índico’s experience in scaling technology companies.
