AI security startup Outtake has raised $40M in Series B funding to scale its agentic cybersecurity platform focused on detecting and dismantling digital identity fraud at enterprise scale.
The round was led by Iconiq, with Murali Joshi spearheading the investment. The syndicate also includes a notable group of individual backers from across the technology and business landscape, among them Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, Palo Alto Networks CEO Nikesh Arora, Pershing Square CEO Bill Ackman, Palantir CTO Shyam Sankar, Anduril co-founder Trae Stephens, former OpenAI executive Bob McGrew, Vercel CEO Guillermo Rauch, and former AT&T CEO John Donovan.
The backing reflects growing confidence in Outtake’s ability to address a security problem that has historically relied on manual, human-intensive workflows.
Turning digital impersonation into a software problem
Founded in 2023 by former Palantir engineer Alex Dhillon, Outtake builds an agentic security platform that automatically detects, investigates, and removes digital impersonation threats. These include fake social media accounts, malicious domains, fraudulent mobile apps, and deceptive online ads that pose as legitimate brands or organizations.
As AI tools have made attackers faster and more convincing, traditional detection and takedown methods have struggled to keep pace. Outtake’s platform applies autonomous AI agents to continuously scan, validate, and neutralize threats in real time, shifting brand protection from reactive processes to automated defense.
Rapid enterprise adoption and commercial traction
The startup counts organizations such as OpenAI, Pershing Square, AppLovin, and multiple government agencies among its customers. In 2025, OpenAI highlighted the company as an example of an agentic startup built on advanced reasoning models.
The company reports strong momentum, with annual recurring revenue growing sixfold year over year and its customer base expanding more than tenfold. Over the past year alone, Outtake’s systems evaluated more than 20M potential cyber threats.
Scaling brand safety in an AI-native threat landscape
With the new capital, Outtake plans to continue expanding its platform capabilities and enterprise footprint, positioning itself as a core security layer for organizations facing increasingly sophisticated AI-enabled fraud.
