Climate volatility, supply shocks, and mounting sustainability pressure are forcing the global food industry to rethink how it operates — and Mondra wants to be the platform powering that transition. The London-based AI and data intelligence company has raised £10 million in Series A funding to expand its platform across Europe and extend its capabilities in supply chain risk and climate resilience.

The round drew backing from AlbionVC, Planet A, Swisscom Ventures, PeakBridge, Ponderosa Ventures, and Green Circle Foodtech Ventures, all focused on sustainability-driven innovation in food and supply chains.

“Supply chains have become too complex, too fragile, and too opaque to manage with yesterday’s tools,” said Jason Barrett, CEO and co-founder of Mondra. “Mondra gives companies a new level of visibility and intelligence — from farm to fork — so they can make decisions that are both profitable and sustainable.”

Mapping the World’s Most Complex Supply Chains

Founded in 2019, the startup is building a digital twin of the food supply system — using AI-powered product-level insights to make global value chains more transparent, efficient, and climate-resilient.

The platform integrates with existing systems used by retailers, suppliers, and food manufacturers, surfacing live data on:

  • Carbon and environmental footprints
  • Supply chain disruptions and risks
  • Price volatility and margin impact
  • Climate-related threats and sourcing alternatives

This enables companies to assess product-level performance, model supply chain scenarios, and produce audit-ready ESG reports — all within a single data-driven framework.

In a world where Scope 3 emissions account for over 90% of a food company’s climate footprint, Mondra’s technology is fast becoming essential infrastructure.

“Our mission is to help the food industry meet its sustainability goals without sacrificing competitiveness,” said Barrett. “With Mondra, businesses can finally see the trade-offs between environmental impact, resilience, and profitability — and act on them.”

AI Co-Pilot for Smarter Decision-Making

Last year, the company introduced Sherpa, an AI-powered assistant built directly into its platform. Sherpa acts as a decision co-pilot — guiding business leaders through complex trade-offs between emissions, cost, and climate resilience.

The system can surface insights, simulate outcomes, and recommend interventions, making it easier for procurement, sustainability, and finance teams to collaborate around shared goals.

Accelerating European Expansion

The new funding will power Mondra’s growth into key European markets, including the Netherlands, Germany, and France, and fuel product development that extends beyond carbon accounting into climate risk, disruption forecasting, and social resilience.

With food systems under pressure from both climate change and geopolitical instability, investors see Mondra’s data-driven approach as critical to future-proofing supply networks.

“Mondra represents the next generation of supply chain intelligence — one that unites financial performance with environmental responsibility,” said Cat McDonald, Partner at AlbionVC. “We’re excited to back their expansion and continued innovation.”
