Paris-based Moments Lab has raised €21 million in a funding round led by Oxx, with participation from Orange Ventures, Kadmos, Supernova Invest, and Elaia Partners.
The company helps media, sports, and brand organizations index, search, and repurpose video content more efficiently using AI.
Enabling creative efficiency at scale
Founded in 2016 by twin brothers Frederic and Philippe Petitpont, Moments Lab leverages its proprietary MXT Multimodal AI to break down video into scenes, identify key elements like people and actions, and generate natural language descriptions. This makes it easier for users to find moments worth highlighting, reducing the manual effort required for editing and storytelling.
Clients and traction
Clients include Thomson Reuters, Sinclair, Hearst, Amazon Ads, and Banijay. The platform is used for clipping highlights, managing live footage, and licensing media assets. Moments Lab reports more than doubling its recurring revenue in the past year and expects continued growth through 2025.
Plans for growth
The new capital will support U.S. expansion and the development of its next-gen AI tools, including MXT-2 and an “agentic AI” that can generate video rough cuts based on simple prompts. CEO Philippe Petitpont says the team is focused on enabling users to extract insights from hours of footage in seconds—unlocking new value in video storytelling.
