Berlin-based Mirantus Health has raised €5.5 million to expand mira, its digital eye-screening platform, across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
With nearly a third of Germany’s ophthalmologists approaching retirement and demand for exams rising sharply, access to timely specialist care is becoming increasingly strained.
A Faster, Scalable Path to Early Detection
mira enables opticians to capture key eye measurements — including retinal images, intraocular pressure, slit-lamp recordings, and visual acuity data — and securely transmit them to ophthalmologists for review. Instead of waiting months, patients receive a specialist-evaluated report within 24 to 48 hours. The report highlights irregularities that may require clinical follow-up, supporting earlier intervention and preventing avoidable complications. Mirantus also connects patients to a nationwide network of more than 400 ophthalmologists when further assessment is needed.
Fueling Expansion to 1,000+ Locations
Backed by Revent, Redstone, Entrepreneur First, Noaber, Arve Capital, and digital-health operators Kai Eberhardt and Katharina Jünger, mira is already active at over 200 sites. The new capital will drive platform development and support rollout to more than 1,000 locations by 2027, strengthening early-stage eye screening across the DACH region.
