Minit Games, a Hamburg-based gaming startup, has raised €1.7 million ($2 million) in pre-seed funding to expand its team and advance the technical rollout of its AI-powered short-form gaming platform.

The round was led by LVP and Sony Innovation Fund, with participation from angel investors including Stefan Klemm, Timo Soininen, and Klaas Kersting. The company is preparing for an invite-only early alpha launch.

What The Company Does

Founded in 2025, Minit Games is developing an open platform for short-form interactive games designed to function within algorithm-driven content feeds. The company aims to reduce friction between game discovery and gameplay by enabling users to access HTML5-based games instantly, without downloads or traditional storefront navigation.

The platform introduces a personalised, algorithm-driven feed where users can discover and play games in real time. Developers, whether using AI-assisted tools or established HTML5 engines, can publish directly to the feed, allowing content to become immediately accessible to players.

At the core of the system is an AI-powered discovery engine that analyses user engagement signals and behavioural patterns to match games with relevant audiences. The objective is to improve discoverability for creators while increasing content relevance and engagement for players.

Market Context / Industry Background

Across Europe’s gaming and interactive media sector in 2025–2026, early-stage investment has increasingly focused on content discovery, distribution models, and platform innovation. While social media and streaming platforms have embraced algorithmic feeds to drive content consumption, traditional game distribution remains largely centred around digital storefronts and download-based ecosystems.

As user attention shifts toward short-form, feed-based content experiences, there is growing interest in adapting similar models to interactive entertainment. HTML5 technologies and cloud-based infrastructure are enabling lightweight, instantly playable formats that align more closely with mobile-first and feed-native user behaviour.

This shift presents opportunities for platforms that can combine game publishing, discovery, and engagement within a single, scalable environment.

Founder / Investor Commentary

Co-founder Ole Schaper stated that while players increasingly spend time in algorithm-driven feeds, games are still largely confined to traditional storefront models. He described the platform as a destination where short-form games can be discovered and played as seamlessly as other forms of digital media.

LVP General Partner Are Mack Growen noted that improving game discoverability and reducing friction between discovery and interaction are key challenges in the sector. He highlighted the platform’s feed-based approach as a way to align game distribution with contemporary content consumption patterns.

Growth Plans / Use Of Funds

The newly secured funding will be used to grow Minit Games’ technical and operational teams and further develop its AI-driven discovery infrastructure. The company plans to refine its feed algorithms, expand developer onboarding, and prepare for broader platform rollout following its early alpha phase.

By building an open publishing model and prioritising instant playability, Minit Games aims to create a scalable ecosystem for short-form interactive content, enabling developers to reach audiences more efficiently while offering users frictionless access to new games.
