Freshly updated: A complete roster of women angel investors who are currently active in Europe.
While there is a shortage of female angel investors in Europe, the number of women in this role is higher than many people realize.
Europe’s Female Angel Investors remain a minority, with only 14% of angel investors in the UK being women between 2012 and 2021, according to the UK Business Angels Association (UKBAA). This imbalance has a considerable impact on the number of female entrepreneurs who secure early-stage funding.
Below, you will discover the complete list of over 250 Female Angel Investors, but before that, we highlight some trailblazing women and female angel collectives.
Having started her professional journey as a radiologist in the NHS, Pathiraja transitioned into consulting and advisory roles before pursuing an MBA at the London Business School, which sparked her interest in investing. She has since founded Crista Galli Ventures, a €55m fund focused on backing early-stage health startups. Her portfolio of angel investments includes Juno Bio and Holly Health, among others.
While serving as Spotify’s global director of marketing, Bendz began her angel investing journey in 2012. She is now among the most active angel investors in the region, with a portfolio so extensive that she has enlisted external assistance to manage it. Bendz has invested in numerous femtech companies, such as Daye and Grace Health. She presently serves as a partner at the German early-stage fund, Cherry Ventures.
Lalande began her professional journey as a consultant at The Boston Consulting Group and subsequently worked for Yunus Social Business, a non-profit impact investor with a corporate consulting arm focused on addressing poverty and climate change. After that, she co-founded and served as CEO of Once and Pickable, dating apps that Social Discovery Ventures acquired. Currently, Lalande is a member of The Whisperers, a French super-angels group that has supported over 300 companies, including Algolia, Aircall, and Exotec.
Pausder is the CEO and founder of Fox&Sheep, a digital education startup for children, as well as HABA Digital GmbH, which operates digital workshops across Germany to teach children coding, robotics, and other technical skills. She was among only three women to feature on Sifted’s list of the most active German angel investors for 2021, along with Gloria Bäuerlein and Gesa Miczaika.
As an angel investor, Pausder has allocated capital to verticals like education, financial services, and software, with a particular interest in supporting female entrepreneurs.
