Berlin-based LawX has secured €7.5 million in seed funding to expand its AI-powered operating platform for law firms and notaries across Europe.

The round was led by Motive Partners, with participation from WENVEST Capital, xdeck, SIVentures, and several angel investors from the legal and technology sectors.

Automating The Operational Side Of Legal Work

LawX is developing an AI platform designed to automate operational workflows inside legal practices, including document handling, billing, communication, scheduling, data management, and internal processes.

The company says many law firms still rely on fragmented legacy systems and highly manual workflows, creating inefficiencies at a time when demand for legal services continues to rise and qualified talent becomes increasingly difficult to secure.

While much of the recent legal AI market has focused on legal research and document generation, LawX is targeting the operational infrastructure that supports the day-to-day functioning of law offices.

Building An Integrated Legal Operating System

The platform is designed as a unified system that manages the full legal workflow from client intake to invoicing.

According to the company, the goal is to reduce administrative overhead, improve productivity, and help firms modernise operations without requiring complex implementation or extensive training.

Dr. Norman Koschmieder said the legal industry is facing increasing structural pressure as critical operational processes remain heavily dependent on manual work.

“We are building the technological infrastructure to automate these processes end-to-end for the first time and secure the long-term operational capability of law firms,” he said.

Expansion Across Europe

The newly raised funding will support continued product development, platform expansion, and customer growth across European markets.

LawX plans to further strengthen its AI capabilities while scaling adoption among law firms and notary offices seeking more efficient and integrated operational systems.
