French startup Kolet has secured €9 million in Series A funding to scale its digital eSIM platform that provides mobile data connectivity to travelers in over 190 countries.

The round was led by Daphni, with participation from former Expedia CEO Peter Kern, ex-Apple marketing executive Jon Gieselman, and €1 million in non-dilutive support from Bpifrance.

Solving a €15B roaming market problem

Founded in early 2024 by Eduardo Ronzano, Anne-Carole Cöen, Jérémy Gotteland, and Mehdi Chraibi, Kolet aims to eliminate the complexity and costs of international roaming. Its eSIM service—starting at €3.99 for 1GB—works instantly, requires no physical SIM cards, and has already served more than 300,000 travelers in its first year.

Growth fueled by B2B2C model

Unlike competitors like Airalo or Roamless, Kolet operates a B2B2C model, embedding its solution within major travel platforms like Air France, KLM, Exoticca, and Kiwi.com. The company plans to use the new funds to enhance its app, launch freemium offerings, simplify onboarding, and hire across tech, product, and business roles.

Vision for 1M users and beyond

Kolet previously raised €5M in seed funding and is now targeting 1 million users by year-end. With transparent pricing and traveler-first features—like reusing leftover data—the company is positioning itself as a global alternative to legacy roaming services.

Co-founder and CEO Eduardo Ronzano noted, “This funding allows us to scale our network, strengthen our product, and build a world-class team.”
