Inploi, a talent technology startup founded by Matthew de la Hey and Alex Hanson-Smith, has raised €3.4 million (£3 million) to expand across the UK and US and accelerate development of its AI-powered recruitment platform.

The round was led by YFM Equity Partners, with participation from existing investors.

What The Company Does

Inploi provides a candidate experience and recruitment automation platform designed for high-volume hiring environments. The system integrates with existing applicant tracking systems to improve how candidates move through the recruitment process, aiming to reduce drop-off rates and speed up hiring decisions.

Originally launched as a labour marketplace, the company pivoted in 2021 toward enterprise software as a service, focusing on inefficiencies in large-scale recruitment. Its platform uses AI-driven agents to support key hiring workflows, including candidate sourcing, screening, communication, and interview scheduling.

The goal is to reduce manual workload for talent acquisition teams while improving both hiring speed and candidate experience. The system is designed to make large-scale recruitment processes more structured and efficient, particularly in sectors with constant hiring demand.

Market Context / Industry Background

High-volume recruitment remains a major operational challenge for large employers across industries such as hospitality, retail, healthcare, construction, and the public sector. These sectors often deal with large applicant pools, high turnover, and time-sensitive hiring needs.

As labour markets remain tight in many regions, companies are increasingly adopting AI-driven tools to automate repetitive recruitment tasks and improve hiring efficiency. Candidate experience has also become a competitive factor, as delays and friction in application processes can lead to significant drop-off rates.

Enterprise hiring platforms are shifting toward automation layers that sit on top of existing applicant tracking systems, enabling companies to improve workflows without replacing core infrastructure.

These systems are also being used to support more consistent screening processes, helping reduce manual workload for recruitment teams while maintaining structured evaluation criteria. At the same time, integration with existing HR tools is becoming an important consideration for organisations looking to adopt new technologies without disrupting established workflows. As a result, interoperability and ease of implementation are increasingly central to product development in this space, particularly for platforms targeting large-scale hiring environments where efficiency, reliability, and process standardisation are key operational requirements.

These platforms are also designed to provide better visibility across hiring pipelines, allowing teams to track progress and identify bottlenecks more effectively. Reporting and analytics capabilities are becoming standard features, supporting data-informed decision-making in recruitment processes and helping organisations maintain consistency across different roles, departments, and geographic hiring locations within their operations.

Founder / Investor Commentary

CEO Matthew de la Hey said employers are under increasing pressure to hire at scale while improving the candidate experience. He noted that Inploi has demonstrated a more efficient approach to recruitment, with strong demand from organisations seeking smarter and more automated hiring solutions.

He added that backing from YFM Equity Partners will allow the company to accelerate product development, expand its team, and scale internationally.

Growth Plans / Use Of Funds

The new funding will be used to expand Inploi’s commercial operations across the UK and US and grow its internal team.

A key focus will be further development of its AI-powered “Talent Agents,” which are designed to automate additional recruitment workflows and reduce manual effort across sourcing, screening, and scheduling.

The company also plans to strengthen its platform capabilities and deepen integrations with enterprise recruitment systems to support larger-scale deployments.
