New York-based healthcare startup Ilant Health has raised $15 million in Series A funding to expand its AI-supported obesity and cardiometabolic care platform, bringing the company’s total funding to more than $22 million.
The round was led by Cornucopian Capital, with participation from naturalX, Peakbridge, Semcap AI, Evidenced, Operator Partners, and existing investors Celtic, LifeX, and AlphaLab.
Founded by former McKinsey and Molina Healthcare executive Elina Onitskansky, Ilant Health is building a value-based obesity care platform designed to help employers and health plans improve patient outcomes while reducing overall healthcare costs.
Reimagining Obesity Care Through Precision Medicine
As obesity rates continue to rise globally, healthcare systems face growing pressure from increasing treatment costs, chronic disease management, and the rapid adoption of weight-loss medications such as GLP-1 therapies.
Ilant Health aims to address these challenges by replacing fragmented treatment models with a continuous, personalized care approach that combines medical treatment, behavioral support, nutrition guidance, physical activity programs, and long-term monitoring.
The company uses artificial intelligence and clinical data to tailor treatment pathways to individual patients, continuously adjusting care plans based on each member’s response over time.
Delivering Clinical And Financial Outcomes
Unlike many solutions that focus solely on medication access or cost management, Ilant combines clinician-led care with data-driven treatment optimization to improve both health outcomes and financial performance for employers and insurers.
According to the company, members using the platform achieve an average weight loss of 15%, significantly exceeding the results typically seen in real-world obesity treatment settings. Patients have also reported improvements in broader health indicators and overall wellbeing, including increased mental wellness.
The platform supports a range of treatment options, including behavioral therapy, GLP-1 medications, non-GLP-1 therapies, and bariatric surgery when clinically appropriate.
Strong Demand From Employers And Health Plans
Ilant Health has already established partnerships with employers and healthcare organizations seeking more sustainable approaches to obesity management.
The company recently expanded its capabilities through direct contracting arrangements and transparent pricing programs for obesity medications, including collaborations involving major pharmaceutical manufacturers such as Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk.
As demand for weight-loss treatments continues to grow, employers are increasingly searching for solutions that balance access to care with rising healthcare expenditures.
Funding To Accelerate Expansion
The newly secured capital will support platform development, team growth, and broader deployment of Ilant’s value-based obesity care model across employer and health plan markets.
The company believes that combining AI-powered personalization with clinician-led care can create a more effective and economically sustainable approach to treating obesity and related chronic conditions.
Elina Onitskansky, Founder and CEO of Ilant Health, said:
“Employers and health plans are facing a difficult challenge. Expanding access to obesity treatments can significantly increase costs, while restricting access risks worsening chronic disease outcomes. We believe the future lies in delivering personalized, evidence-based care that improves health outcomes while reducing unnecessary spending across the healthcare system.”
Investor Perspective
Aryeh Ganz, Founder and Managing Partner at Cornucopian Capital, added:
“The future of obesity and cardiometabolic care will not be defined by access to a single medication but by the ability to deliver the right treatment to the right patient at the right time. Ilant’s model combines clinical excellence with measurable economic value, positioning the company to become a category leader in the years ahead.”
