Amsterdam-based Healthplus.ai has secured €2.3 million to scale its clinically validated AI platform that predicts post-surgical infection risk.
The round was led by Elevating Capital, joined by LUMO Labs, ROM InWest, Pathena, and Leistone (Renza Family).
Tackling One Of Surgery’s Most Persistent Risks
Healthplus.ai’s CE- and ISO-certified system, PERISCOPE, analyses electronic health record data to flag infection risks early, giving medical teams time to intervene before complications escalate.
The technology is designed to reduce preventable harm, shorten hospital stays, and significantly lower care-related costs.
Marcel Broersma, Founding Partner at Elevating Capital, says the investment aligns with their belief in “technology that delivers measurable societal impact,” noting that Healthplus.ai “brings medical expertise and AI together to improve clinical decision-making and healthcare efficiency.”

Surgical complications affect one in three patients globally — more than 70 million people each year.
Infections are the most common issue, often discovered too late to avoid extended recovery or readmission.
With billions worldwide still lacking access to safe surgical care, the need for predictive, scalable solutions continues to grow.
PERISCOPE integrates directly into hospital workflows and adapts to each patient population, ensuring consistent performance across diverse clinical environments.
Expansion Across Europe And North America
Healthplus.ai currently operates in the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, and the UK.
The new funding will support:
• FDA clearance for the U.S. market
• Expansion across Europe, the Nordics, and North America
• Deep integrations with Epic, Cerner, ChipSoft, and other major EHR platforms
• New AI models covering additional perioperative complications
