New York-based Hauler Hero has secured $16 million in a Series A funding round as demand grows for its AI-powered waste management software.
The round was led by Frontier Growth, with participation from K5 Global and Somersault Ventures. The latest raise brings Hauler Hero’s total funding to more than $27 million.
Modernising Waste Operations With Integrated Software
Founded in 2020 by CEO Mark Hoadley and Ben Sikma, Hauler Hero was created to replace legacy software systems widely used across the waste management industry.
The company offers an all-in-one platform covering customer relationship management, billing, routing, and operational oversight. Since launch, Hauler Hero reports it has supported more than 35 million waste pickups and has doubled its headcount, revenue, and customer base since its seed round in late 2024.
One of its recent product expansions includes a feature that integrates third-party camera feeds from garbage trucks into a centralized command system. The tool allows operators to verify completed pickups, support billing validation, and gain visibility into fleet activity.
According to the company, the added transparency can improve quality control while also helping reduce liability risks in the event of disputes or accidents.

Introducing AI Agents For Operational Efficiency
Building on its core platform, Hauler Hero is now developing three AI-driven agents designed to automate operational tasks and uncover efficiency gains.
Hero Vision focuses on identifying service issues and revenue opportunities. Hero Chat is designed to handle customer inquiries, while Hero Route aims to dynamically optimise route planning using historical and real-time operational data.
By leveraging large volumes of pickup, billing, and routing data already stored within its system, the firm plans to enable customers to generate insights and operational improvements with minimal manual intervention.
Expanding Into Municipal Markets
In addition to serving private waste operators, Hauler Hero has seen growing adoption among municipal customers. The company notes that consolidation among competitors has left fewer technology options available for public entities, contributing to inbound demand.
The newly raised capital will support the commercial rollout of its AI agents, further product development, and continued expansion into municipal and enterprise segments.
