Québec City-based Gaiia has secured a $40 million Series B funding round to accelerate product development, expand its engineering and research teams, and strengthen its software platform for challenger telecom providers.
The all-equity round was led by JMI Equity, with participation from Inovia Capital.
As part of the investment, JMI Equity will also join the company’s board.
Building Software Infrastructure For Challenger Telecom Operators
Gaiia was spun out of Montreal-based internet provider Oxio following Oxio’s sale of its telecom operations to Cogeco Connexion in 2023.
After the transaction, Oxio became the company’s first customer.
The company develops software designed for challenger internet service providers, offering tools across workflow automation, customer relationship management, field service operations, and network management.
Its broader goal is to modernise telecom operations through AI-native infrastructure and cloud-based systems.
Positioning Itself As The “Shopify” For Telecom Providers
Led by CEO and co-founder Marc Campagna, Gaiia aims to simplify how smaller and independent telecom operators manage their businesses.
The company positions itself as a platform enabling telecom providers to operate more efficiently without relying on outdated legacy software systems.
Its products are designed to reduce onboarding complexity, automate operational workflows, and improve the end-customer experience through faster and more streamlined service management.
Rapid Growth And Expansion Plans
According to the company, Gaiia has tripled its revenue annually over the past three years and expects to continue that growth trajectory in 2026.
The company says much of its expansion has been driven organically through customer referrals and word-of-mouth adoption.
With the new funding, Gaiia plans to invest heavily in product development, research and development, and team growth as it continues scaling its platform globally.
The company currently employs around 90 people.
