Copenhagen-based startup Flare has raised €3.6 million in pre-seed funding to develop a platform focused on validating information in an increasingly AI-driven world.

The round was led by 20VC, with participation from ByFounders, 20Growth, and angel investors from companies such as Stack Overflow, GitHub, Reddit, Meta, Kahoot, HubSpot, and Encord.

Tackling Trust In The Age Of AI

Founded in 2026, Flare is building infrastructure designed to help users distinguish between verified and unverified information at scale.

As AI-generated content continues to grow rapidly, the company aims to create systems that make it easier to assess the reliability of claims in real time.

Structured Validation Through Collective Intelligence

Flare’s platform combines structured data systems with collective intelligence to evaluate information and highlight what is supported by evidence.

The goal is to provide transparent context around knowledge—helping users understand not just what is being said, but how trustworthy it is.

Experienced Team From Global Tech Leaders

The founding team brings experience from major technology companies including Google, Unity, IBM, Amazon, and Corti, combining expertise in building large-scale and reliable systems.

Scaling Team And Infrastructure

The newly raised funding will be used to invest in compute resources, expand the team, and further develop the platform. Flare plans to grow from six to eight employees by the end of the year.

According to co-founder and CEO Nicolai Frost Kolborg Jacobsen, the challenge lies in keeping pace with the explosion of information:

“The issue isn’t that people are naïve—it’s that the infrastructure for discernment hasn’t scaled alongside the infrastructure for content. That’s what we’re building.”
