French cybersecurity leader Filigran has secured €49 million in Series C funding, bringing its total capital raised to over €85 million since its founding in 2022.

The round marks a major milestone for one of Europe’s fastest-growing CyberTech companies, whose open-source threat intelligence solutions are now used by more than 6,000 organisations worldwide, including the FBI, the European Commission, and Bouygues Telecom.

The investment was led by Eurazeo Growth, with participation from Accel, existing backers, and strategic partners.

Scaling Europe’s open-source cyber defense powerhouse

The startup is redefining the cybersecurity landscape through its XTM suite — an open-source platform that enables organisations to detect, predict, and prevent cyber threats. The suite includes:

  • OpenCTI, a leading threat intelligence platform for structuring and operationalising global threat data.
  • OpenBAS, a real-time adversary emulation tool that continuously validates security posture.
  • OpenGRC (in development), a governance and risk module designed to help organisations prioritise threats and automate compliance.

Founded by Samuel Hassine and Julien Richard, Filigran’s mission is to bring accessible, actionable, and transparent cybersecurity to organisations of all sizes.

“With AI accelerating the sophistication of attacks, cybersecurity can no longer rely on reactive measures,” said Raluca Ragab, Partner at Eurazeo Growth. “Filigran enables organisations to transform raw threat intelligence into actionable insights — a critical capability in today’s threat landscape.”

Trusted by institutions worldwide

Filigran’s tools are now used by a diverse client base spanning governments, large enterprises, and critical infrastructure operators. Alongside high-profile customers like the FBI and European Commission, its solutions are deployed across the US, Australia, and Europe, helping both public and private sectors proactively identify vulnerabilities.

“The progress Sam, Julien, and the Filigran team have made since our Series A investment has been remarkable,” said Andrei Brasoveanu, Partner at Accel. “More than 6,000 organisations rely on OpenCTI to defend against cyber threats — supported by a passionate, fast-growing open-source community. Filigran is redefining how threat management is done globally.”

Expanding globally with AI-driven intelligence

The €49 million Series C will support Filigran’s global expansion, including new operations in the Pacific, Middle East, Japan, and Saudi Arabia, alongside deepened engagement in Europe and North America.

Funds will also accelerate the launch of OpenGRC, expand AI capabilities through the XTM One AI Agent platform, and grow R&D teams in France and Germany.

“Filigran’s expansion across Europe, combined with Deutsche Telekom’s customer reach, creates a unique opportunity to deliver advanced cyber defense to organisations of all sizes,” said Thomas Tschersich, CSO at Deutsche Telekom AG. “Together, we are setting a new benchmark for actionable intelligence and resilience.”

Strengthening Europe’s cyber frontier

Filigran’s latest funding round reflects growing investor confidence in Europe’s cybersecurity ecosystem, following major fund closings from players like TIN Capital and Expeditions Fund II. Its open-source-first approach distinguishes it from many proprietary security startups, positioning Filigran as a key driver of Europe’s sovereign cybersecurity innovation.

In under three years, the company has become one of Europe’s most influential cyber players, combining transparency, collaboration, and advanced threat modeling into a cohesive defense framework.
