German robotics startup Filics has raised €13.5M in a fresh funding round led by Sandwater, Alven, F-LOG Ventures, and the Amazon Industrial Innovation Fund.

Existing investors Capnamic and 10x Founders also participated, alongside Bayern Kapital and notable angels such as Dexory’s Andrei Danescu and former Agilox CEO Helmut Schmid.

Scaling automation for warehouse efficiency

The funding will fuel the rollout and development of the Filics Unit—an autonomous double-runner robot system designed for transporting pallets with maximum space efficiency. The company aims to optimize its tech for floor block warehouses by late 2025 and prepare for expansion into broader European markets by 2026.

Compact robots with powerful payloads

Capable of lifting up to 1.2 tons, Filics’ robots autonomously navigate under standard pallets, transporting them while reducing warehouse space needs by up to 66%. The startup was founded by engineers from the Technical University of Munich and has been collaborating with logistics leaders like DHL Group and Nagel Group.

Eyeing full automation

The company plans to evolve its platform toward fully autonomous truck loading within five minutes. The technology is addressing critical pain points in logistics—space constraints, labor shortages, and throughput bottlenecks.
