Delft-based ExRobotics, a pioneer in explosion-proof autonomous inspection robots for the energy and petrochemical industries, has secured the first tranche of a growth round totalling up to €7 million.
The investment is led by industrial-tech specialist FORWARD.one, with continued support from long-term backer Rotterdam Port Fund. Additional investors are currently in active discussions to join the round.

Scaling Robot-as-a-Service Fleets Globally
ExRobotics has reached cash-flow break-even, marking a major milestone as demand accelerates across international oil, gas and chemical sites. The new capital will be used to expand manufacturing, advance software capabilities and scale its Robot-as-a-Service (RaaS) fleets across global industrial customers.
The company’s flagship ExR-2 robots autonomously navigate hazardous “Ex zones”—areas at risk of explosive gas presence—performing methane-leak detection, routine safety checks and real-time site monitoring. ExRobotics’ systems already operate in extreme tropical, desert and Arctic environments, supporting more than 100 installations across first- and second-generation platforms.
By automating inspections, operators gain continuous monitoring, quicker issue detection, higher equipment uptime and significant reductions in manual risk exposure and maintenance costs.
