Brussels-based smart water dispenser company Dripl has raised €4M in a new funding round to support its expansion beyond the Benelux region, scale manufacturing in Leuven, and deploy its refill solution across additional European markets. The company already serves more than 500 business customers.
The round was led by Abacus Investments, with continued participation from Spadel, Faraday Venture Partners, and the Meert Family.
Scaling a refill-first hydration model
Dripl was founded in 2020 to rethink how beverages are consumed in the workplace by replacing single-use packaging with smart refill stations. Its Refill Points offer still and sparkling water alongside functional flavours, without added sugar and with lower associated emissions than bottled drinks.
The company positions its model around making sustainable hydration more convenient and attractive than traditional bottled alternatives, aiming to drive lasting behavioural change at scale.
Production growth and European rollout
The new funding will be used to increase production capacity at Dripl’s facility in Leuven and support international expansion. The company plans to strengthen its presence in existing markets while rolling out its solution to new European regions where demand for sustainable workplace infrastructure is growing.
Dripl’s latest round comes amid a selective but rising number of investments in smart hydration and sustainable beverage infrastructure across Europe.
Customer traction and impact metrics
Dripl counts companies such as Moore, Cordeel, Visma, and PostNL among its customers. According to the company, its systems have already helped eliminate more than 15 million single-use packages, roughly equivalent to one avoided disposable drink every second of the workday.
The company’s long-term target is to remove one billion single-use packages and establish refill-based hydration as the default option in offices.
Building a profitable, long-term platform
Dripl says it has already reached profitability while maintaining strong growth, combining hardware deployment with recurring beverage consumption. The company views the latest funding as a step toward competing with large beverage incumbents that continue to rely on single-use packaging and sugary drinks.
With the new capital, Dripl aims to further entrench refill-based hydration as a scalable, commercially viable alternative for workplaces across Europe.
