Clean Food Group (CFG), a UK-based biotech manufacturer, has raised £4.5 million in new funding to accelerate the production of sustainable oils and fats derived from food waste.
The round was led by Clean Growth Fund and New Agrarian, alongside a £700,000 non-dilutive grant from Innovate UK.
Scaling Sustainable Ingredient Production
The funding will support the expansion of CFG’s fermentation facility in Knowsley, Liverpool, increasing production capacity and advancing the commercial rollout of its alternative oils and fats.
Following the acquisition of a one million-litre fermentation site in 2025, the company is positioning itself as a leading producer of yeast-derived oils at industrial scale.
