Trusttech startup Certificall has raised €1 million in seed funding to accelerate its European expansion and strengthen its certified visual evidence technology for insurers, brokers, and industrial clients.
The round was led by TomCat, Groupama, and InsurAngels, reflecting growing investor confidence in technologies that combat digital and AI-driven fraud.
Founded in 2022 by Guillaume Laurent and Nicolas Chabauty, Certificall provides a platform for fast, secure, and tamper-proof documentation through certified photos and videos. Its system integrates geolocation, time-stamping, eIDAS-compliant signature seals, and anti-tampering protocols to ensure every piece of evidence can be legally verified across the EU.
With insurance fraud in France alone estimated at €902 million in 2024, the startup’s technology is addressing a critical and growing challenge. Certificall’s platform enables the creation of verified reports in under 90 seconds and has already certified more than 3 million images.
“The surge in fraud from 2021 to 2022 was only the beginning,” said Guillaume Laurent, Co-founder and President of Certificall. “Generative AI has made fabricating convincing evidence easier than ever. Our mission is to stop this fraud at the source — before it spreads into claims, audits, and investigations.”

As the EU pushes toward 80% adoption of digital identity wallets by 2030, Certificall is positioning itself as a trusted third party aligned with eIDAS regulations for electronic identification and trust services. This ensures that every certified proof created on its platform carries full legal validity across member states, offering insurers and enterprises a secure foundation for digital integrity.
The new funding will fuel product innovation and support the company’s commercial rollout across Europe, helping more organizations verify visual information with confidence and speed.
