Montréal-based AI infrastructure startup Botpress has raised over $34 million CAD ($25 million USD) in Series B funding.
The company offers an all-in-one platform to help organizations safely and efficiently build and deploy AI agents powered by large language models (LLMs).
From chatbot platform to AI infrastructure layer
Founded in 2017, Botpress originally focused on chatbot development tools. However, after reassessing the market, the company pivoted to become “LLM-native,” positioning itself as part of the infrastructure stack for emerging agentic AI systems. Its current product helps developers and enterprises manage AI agents with orchestration, tool integration, and runtime isolation.
Investment to accelerate growth and product development
The Series B round was led by Framework Venture Partners, with participation from Deloitte Ventures, HubSpot Ventures, and existing backers Inovia Capital and Decibel Partners. The round brings Botpress’ total funding to $45 million USD and values the company at $120 million USD post-money, more than doubling its valuation since its 2021 Series A.
Botpress plans to double its 65-person team, launch a European office and data center, and release new voice features in the coming quarter.
Scaling AI agent adoption across industries
Botpress currently serves 3,000 paying customers and nearly 1 million free users. Its platform is used in diverse sectors, including FinTech, consumer tech, and IT support. Notable deployments include a French-language cheese-recommending bot and automated customer service systems.
CEO Sylvain Perron emphasized the growing demand: “We have more coming our way than we can handle.” The company’s revenue has doubled every quarter since monetization began last year.
Building AI tools with WordPress-style accessibility
The startup follows a usage-based pricing model, similar to WordPress, and sells both to agencies and direct customers. This strategy aims to empower partners to scale their AI solutions profitably.
As the generative AI ecosystem matures, investors see platforms like Botpress as essential for turning foundational AI models into practical, production-ready solutions.
