Assort Health, a startup using AI to automate patient communications for specialty medical practices, has raised $50 million in Series B funding at a $750 million valuation, according to sources.

The round was led by Lightspeed Venture Partners, just four months after the company closed its $22 million Series A.

Founded in 2023 by Jon Wang, a former medical student, and Jeff Liu, a former Facebook engineer, Assort Health builds AI voice agents that handle high-volume, repetitive tasks such as scheduling, cancellations, and FAQs. This frees front desk staff to focus on more complex or sensitive patient interactions.

Riding healthcare’s AI adoption wave

The startup’s platform primarily serves small and mid-sized specialty care offices, where long wait times can often push patients toward competitors. By providing rapid responses, Assort aims to help clinics retain more patients while reducing administrative burden.

Assort initially targeted orthopedic and physical care offices but has since expanded to OB-GYN, dermatology, and dentistry. Its annual recurring revenue (ARR) is just over $3 million, but sources say growth is accelerating.

“Our vision is to modernize patient communications by removing the bottlenecks that cost both patients and providers valuable time,” said co-founder and CEO Jon Wang.

Part of a growing sector

Assort joins a wave of startups tackling healthcare’s administrative overload with AI. Competitors include EliseAI, which recently raised $250M at a $2.2B valuation, and Hello Patient, which secured $20M Series A this month.

With the fresh capital, Assort plans to scale its engineering and go-to-market teams, expand across more medical specialties, and further develop its AI communication platform.
