Anduril, the defense technology company known for developing autonomous weapons and AI-powered systems, has raised $2.5 billion in a massive Series G funding round.

Founders Fund led the round with a historic $1 billion investment—the largest in the firm’s history—helping Anduril reach a valuation of $30.5 billion, doubling its previous figure.

Demand surges as investors crowd in

The round was more than eight times oversubscribed, with intense interest from both new and existing backers, according to the company. The defense company’s growth has been fueled by a doubling of its revenue to around $1 billion in 2024.

Key military contract drives momentum

The funding comes on the heels of a pivotal U.S. Army contract win. The company recently took over a multibillion-dollar AR/VR headset project originally awarded to Microsoft. The shift in ownership of the $22 billion program represents a significant vote of confidence from the U.S. Department of Defense and further strengthens Anduril’s positioning in the defense tech market.

Reconciliation and partnership

Anduril founder Palmer Luckey, who had a contentious exit from Meta (formerly Facebook), made headlines by publicly reconciling with the company as it partnered with Anduril on devices related to the Army contract.

What’s next

With fresh capital in hand, the firm is poised to continue scaling its advanced defense platforms and deepen its foothold in both autonomous warfare technology and military-grade AR/VR systems.
