Ananda Impact Ventures has secured €73M in the first close of its fifth Core Impact Fund, exceeding its initial €50M target. The close represents the largest first raise in the firm’s 16-year history.
The fund is backed by a combination of returning and new investors, including the European Investment Fund, NRW.BANK, Investcorp-Tages, Mercator Foundation, and more than 40 family offices from across Europe.
Building on a long-term impact strategy
Ananda Impact Ventures manages €270M across five funds and invests in early-stage, technology-driven startups addressing social and environmental challenges. Its investment focus spans climate, healthcare, biodiversity, and social inclusion, with an emphasis on scalable solutions that combine measurable impact with sustainable financial performance.
The fifth fund builds on the firm’s track record across four previous funds, including the successful return of its first fund, and continues its long-term investment approach.
Systems-level investing across sectors
Rather than concentrating on a single sector, Ananda Impact Ventures applies a systems-level perspective, viewing social and environmental challenges as interconnected. This philosophy has guided the firm since 2009 and shapes its focus on interdisciplinary business models designed to address complex, structural issues.
The firm’s portfolio reflects this approach, backing European founders working across areas such as climate intelligence, healthcare innovation, biodiversity monitoring, and education-driven entrepreneurship.
Portfolio experience and team expertise
Ananda’s past investments include companies such as OroraTech, IESO, and NatureMetrics, alongside ventures spanning biology-enabled industry and nature-informed healthcare. The firm attributes its consistency to a multidisciplinary team with backgrounds in science, engineering, and entrepreneurship.
According to Ananda’s leadership, this expertise allows the firm to evaluate opportunities at a systems level and work closely with founders developing long-term solutions to societal and environmental challenges.
With its fifth fund, Ananda Impact Ventures plans to continue supporting European startups building technology-driven businesses that address interconnected challenges while delivering lasting impact.
