A-Cube, a regtech company focused on digital tax compliance, has secured €4 million in funding to support its international expansion.
The round was led by P101 SGR, with participation from Sella Direct Ventures. The company will use the capital to scale its e-invoicing platform and enhance its capabilities as European tax systems continue to digitise.
What The Company Does
Founded in 2018, A-Cube provides an API-based platform that connects businesses with financial institutions and public authorities to manage tax and document workflows. Its technology enables real-time e-invoicing, e-reporting, and compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
The platform is designed to integrate directly into company systems, allowing organisations to automate regulatory processes and reduce manual handling of tax-related documentation. This is particularly relevant for businesses operating across borders, where compliance requirements vary significantly between countries.
By centralising these processes, A-Cube aims to simplify the management of complex regulatory environments and improve operational efficiency.
Market Context / Industry Background
Tax systems across Europe are undergoing structural changes as governments move toward digital and real-time reporting frameworks. Countries such as Italy have already introduced mandatory e-invoicing and electronic payment reporting, setting a precedent for wider adoption across the region.
The upcoming VAT in the Digital Age (VIDA) directive, expected to take effect later in the decade, is likely to accelerate this transition by standardising digital reporting requirements across EU member states. This shift is driving demand for platforms that can handle continuous compliance and integrate seamlessly with both corporate systems and public infrastructure.
For multinational companies, the move toward real-time tax reporting introduces additional complexity, increasing the need for scalable, automated solutions.
At the same time, tax authorities are increasingly using advanced analytics and cross-border data sharing to detect inconsistencies and reduce fraud. This is raising the bar for compliance accuracy and forcing companies to maintain more transparent and auditable financial records. As reporting cycles become more frequent, businesses must ensure that their internal systems can process, validate, and transmit data with minimal delays.
Legacy ERP systems often struggle to keep up with these requirements, creating opportunities for specialised RegTech platforms that can sit on top of existing infrastructure. These platforms are designed to automate data validation, monitor regulatory updates, and ensure that filings remain compliant across multiple jurisdictions.
In parallel, companies are placing greater emphasis on reducing compliance risk as penalties for errors and delays increase. Real-time visibility into tax obligations is becoming a key requirement for finance teams, particularly in organisations operating across several EU markets.
Over time, this shift is expected to transform tax compliance from a periodic reporting function into a continuous, technology-driven process embedded directly within business operations.
Founder / Investor Commentary
Co-founder and CTO Antonino Caccamo said global taxation is entering a phase where regulatory changes and technological innovation are converging toward more integrated and digital reporting models. He pointed to Italy’s early adoption of electronic invoicing and payment mandates as an example of how the transition is unfolding.
Caccamo added that similar frameworks are expected to expand across Europe, with real-time tax reporting gradually becoming the standard under initiatives such as VIDA.
Growth Plans / Use Of Funds
The newly raised funding will be used to expand A-Cube’s presence in key European markets and further develop its platform. The company plans to enhance its product to support additional digital tax reporting requirements as regulations evolve.
A-Cube is also looking to broaden its offering beyond core compliance functions, positioning its platform as part of a wider digital infrastructure for cross-border trade and financial operations.
