Intropy, a London-based AI platform automating inventory, pricing, and operational decisions for spare parts businesses, has raised $11M in seed financing led by Felix Capital, with participation from Quiet Capital, General Catalyst, and firstminute capital.
Founded in 2024 by Franziska Kirschner and YihKai Teh, the company will use the funding to accelerate product development, expand its engineering and machine learning teams, and open a New York office as it grows its US presence alongside continued expansion across Europe.
Addressing The Market Opportunity
Spare parts sustain the physical economy. They keep vehicles on the road, machinery operating, goods moving, and critical infrastructure functioning. In the automotive industry alone, more than $4B in spare parts are estimated to change hands every day. Despite this scale, much of the industry still runs on software designed decades ago, with critical decisions about stock levels, pricing, placement, and obsolescence managed through manual reviews of hundreds of thousands of individual SKUs.
The complexity is intensifying. Tariffs, rising operating costs, uncertain repair volumes, and increasingly sophisticated vehicles and machinery are making these decisions harder to get right. The information needed to make better choices is typically scattered across ERP systems, warehouse platforms, spreadsheets, images, documents, and phone conversations, with no single system capable of pulling it together and acting on it automatically.
How The Technology Works
Intropy’s platform aggregates fragmented structured and unstructured information and automates decisions directly within a customer’s existing ERP system, rather than producing recommendations for employees to review manually. The system dynamically adjusts inventory levels and pricing, manages obsolescence, and moves businesses from periodic, reactive reviews to continuous, proactive decision-making that updates as market conditions change.
The platform connects directly with existing operational systems, applying parts-specific AI that understands the complexity of spare parts, what fits, how components perform, and when they will be needed, to make supply chain decisions without requiring human intervention at each step.
Growth And Market Traction
Since its launch, Intropy‘s platform has processed more than $10B in parts demand and supports parts operations across the United States, the United Kingdom, and Europe. Customers using the platform have reported returns on investment of more than 10x.
Franziska Kirschner holds a physics degree from the University of Oxford and has published research in Nature. YihKai Teh is an AI academic from University College London. The two co-founders worked together previously at Tractable, where they became inventors on more than ten patents applying AI to the spare parts sector, giving them deep domain expertise before founding Intropy.
Expansion Plans
The seed funding will support accelerated product development, growth of the engineering and machine learning teams, and the establishment of a New York office. Intropy will also continue its expansion across European markets as it scales the platform’s coverage of the global spare parts industry.
Looking Ahead
Franziska Kirschner, co-founder and CEO of Intropy, described the gap the company is building to close: “The physical economy is sustained not only by what we build, but by our ability to keep it working. Spare parts make that possible, yet many of the industry’s most important decisions still rely on fragmented systems and manual work. We are not interested in adding another dashboard on top of that complexity. We are building an AI-native operating system that can make and execute decisions autonomously, at scale and speed.”
Fabian Burnett Small, investor at Felix Capital, explained the firm’s conviction: “Every product is designed with components, or spare parts, yet the systems managing those parts remain remarkably manual and fragmented. Intropy is building the intelligence layer that can make supply chains faster, smarter and significantly more efficient. We were immediately impressed by Fran and YihKai’s technical depth, domain expertise and ambition, and are excited to support them in building a new intelligence layer for the physical world.”
