Sodex Innovations, a construction technology startup based in Vorarlberg, Austria, has raised €4M in a funding round led by Capmont Technology.

New investors Bloomhaus, Look AI Ventures, and Superangels joined the round alongside existing backers SOSV, OMA, and 12 Rounds Capital, founded by Katharina Klausberger and Armin Strbac, all of whom made follow-on investments. The capital will support team growth, portfolio expansion, and faster international scaling.

Addressing The Market Opportunity

Construction, mining, and infrastructure projects generate enormous amounts of physical activity that has historically been difficult to measure, document, and manage in real time. Project managers have relied on manual surveys, periodic site visits, and lagging data to track progress, calculate material quantities, and maintain accurate records of work done.

The result is a sector where decisions are frequently made on incomplete or outdated information, contributing to cost overruns, scheduling delays, and a lack of transparency that runs across the entire project lifecycle. Sodex was founded to close this gap by turning construction machines into continuous data sources.

How The Technology Works

Sodex’s AI-powered platform uses construction machines as mobile data collectors. As machines operate on site, they automatically gather information about terrain, material movement, and project progress in real time, without requiring separate survey crews or manual data entry.

This data flows directly to the Sodex web platform, where project teams can access up-to-date site documentation, calculate material quantities, and track construction progress as it happens. The platform is designed to make construction projects faster, more accurate, and more transparent by ensuring that the information teams need to make decisions reflects what is actually happening on the ground at any given moment.

Growth And Market Traction

Founded in 2021, Sodex Innovations serves more than 100 customers across the United States, Australia, and Europe. The continued participation of existing investors SOSV, OMA, and 12 Rounds Capital alongside a new lead investor and three additional new backers reflects sustained confidence in both the technology and the company’s commercial trajectory.

Expansion Plans

The €4M round will fund expansion of the Sodex team, development of new product capabilities, and accelerated international growth across the company’s existing and target markets. With an established customer base already spanning three continents, the company is positioned to scale its platform across a broader range of construction, infrastructure, and mining environments.

Looking Ahead

Ralf Pfefferkorn, CEO and co-founder of Sodex Innovations, described what the funding makes possible: “Real-time updates directly from the construction site have become a central starting point and are now indispensable for many of our customers. With this funding, we can not only expand our team but also our portfolio and scale internationally much more quickly.”

Michael Wittner, Partner at Capmont Technology, outlined the firm’s view of what Sodex represents for the industry: “For the first time, Sodex Innovations makes physical construction activity measurable and controllable in real time, thereby creating the data foundation on which the industry will be managed in the future. We believe that a combination of hardware, software, data, and AI, which enables these sectors to achieve a real leap in productivity, is not only incredibly exciting but also long overdue.”
