Promptwatch, an Amsterdam-based AI Search Optimization platform, has raised €6M in a seed round led by seed + speed Ventures, with participation from Blum Ventures and a follow-on investment from pre-seed backer Arches Capital. Founded in 2025 by Gijs de Groot and Klaas Foppen, the company surpassed €2M in ARR in May 2026, just twelve months after launch, having raised only €1.2M prior to this round.
The new funding will accelerate product development, drive international expansion, grow its engineering and go-to-market teams, and support the opening of a new office in New York City.
Addressing The Market Opportunity
Traditional search optimization is becoming less relevant as AI-generated answers reshape how people find information and make purchasing decisions. According to a Gartner study, organic search traffic is projected to decline by 50 percent or more by 2028 as consumers shift toward generative AI-powered search. Already, 58 percent of users have replaced traditional search engines with AI tools when researching products and services.
For businesses, this shift creates a visibility problem that existing tools were not designed to solve. AI models reference brands, compare providers, and cite sources without making it clear why certain information appears or is omitted. Organizations are losing control over how they are represented in AI-generated responses, and the consequences show up in revenue and market share before traditional metrics can explain them.
How The Technology Works
Promptwatch covers the full AI search optimization workflow, from analyzing AI visibility based on real search data, to identifying the sources and content gaps that influence how AI models perceive a brand, to generating AI-optimized content, surfacing actionable recommendations, and publishing improvements automatically through CMS integrations including WordPress, Webflow, and Framer.
The platform is powered by more than ten million data points collected daily from real prompt data, including responses, citations, model updates, agentic traffic, and different content types, rather than relying on back-end APIs. This proprietary dataset allows Promptwatch to identify which sources influence AI recommendations, whether AI agents can successfully retrieve a website’s content, what information is missing, and which technical or reputation signals are limiting visibility.
The same dataset powers Promptwatch’s agentic AI search optimization engine, which automatically prioritizes optimization opportunities, generates AI-ready content, and deploys it directly to connected CMS platforms without manual intervention.
Growth And Market Traction
Promptwatch reached €2M in ARR within twelve months of launch on €1.2M in pre-seed funding, a capital-efficient growth trajectory that attracted the seed round. The platform is now trusted by more than 1,840 organizations, including Duolingo, Fireflies, and Monks.
Monks, a global marketing agency working with Netflix, Asana, and BMW, turned to Promptwatch after noticing clients losing market share in ways that traditional performance metrics could not account for. Using the platform, Monks was able to increase AI visibility at scale for its clients, helping them outperform competitors by 72 percent while integrating AI visibility data alongside organic and paid performance metrics in a single dashboard.
Expansion Plans
The €6M seed round will fund the next generation of Promptwatch’s agentic AI search optimization capabilities, international expansion, and team growth across engineering and go-to-market functions. The company will open a new office in New York City to support its growing US customer base and strengthen relationships with marketing agencies, global brands, and enterprise customers in one of the world’s leading marketing hubs.
Looking Ahead
Gijs de Groot, CEO and co-founder of Promptwatch, described the progress the company has made and where it is heading: “This funding validates our belief when we started Promptwatch that businesses care about how AI describes their brand and that AI Search will become a meaningful revenue channel. In less than a year, we’ve built the most advanced features such as our Content Agent, Actions and MCP, which allows you to connect Promptwatch to AI tools like ChatGPT and Claude, and today we’re taking the next step with Agentic AI Search Optimization, making it easier for organizations to scale their marketing efforts in AI Search with automated execution.”
Alexander Kölpin, Managing Partner at seed + speed Ventures, explained what set Promptwatch apart: “Promptwatch convinced us because its experienced founding team has already achieved more than 2 million euros in ARR with very limited capital and personnel resources. We find the end-to-end approach particularly impressive: Promptwatch not only analyzes how brands appear in AI searches and generative responses, but also derives concrete actions from this analysis and supports their automatic implementation. This is exactly where Agentic AI Search Optimization comes in. It turns GEO into a manageable workflow for marketing, SEO, and content teams.”
