StirlingX, a British data intelligence company, has raised $20M in a Series A round led by Ventura Capital and the RCM Private Markets Master Fund, managed by Rokos Capital Management US.
The round follows a $11M seed raise completed just months earlier, secured on the back of strong commercial growth and rising demand for the company’s platform. The new funding will support business expansion, operations growth, and the development of new products for complex, high-risk mission environments.
Addressing The Market Opportunity
Organizations operating in defence and critical national infrastructure face a growing need to collect, process, and act on data quickly and securely in environments where standard commercial tools are not viable. The combination of increasing geopolitical risk, the proliferation of hostile drones, and mounting pressure on critical infrastructure has created demand for sovereign-grade intelligence platforms that can operate in sensitive and challenging conditions.
StirlingX was built for this environment, developing technology that gives governments and organizations a trusted, secure way to capture and use data from high-risk operational settings.
How The Technology Works
StirlingX has developed a sovereign intelligence and autonomy platform that enables organizations to collect, secure, combine, analyze, and act on data from complex environments. The platform incorporates drone technology alongside its data intelligence capabilities, supporting tasks such as surveying, mapping, monitoring critical infrastructure, and detecting and responding to hostile drones.
The system is designed to enable fast, secure data capture and processing in sensitive situations where speed and data sovereignty are non-negotiable. The company is chaired by the former Director of GCHQ, reflecting the depth of its institutional credibility within the defence and intelligence community.
Growth And Market Traction
StirlingX’s Series A follows a $11M seed round closed just months prior, with the accelerated fundraising timeline reflecting rapid commercial momentum. The company works with organizations across critical national infrastructure and the defence sector, with its platform trusted by Five Eyes partners and beyond.
Expansion Plans
The $20M Series A will fund StirlingX’s expansion with new and existing partners across critical national infrastructure and defence ministries and agencies. The company will also invest in the development of new products designed to support customers carrying out complex missions in high-risk environments.
Looking Ahead
Dean Jones, CEO and Founder of StirlingX, described the company’s trajectory: “We are building a category-defining sovereign data intelligence company. This Series A will drive our business forward as we scale with new and existing partners across critical national infrastructure and defence ministries and agencies.”
Mo El Husseiny, Managing Partner of Ventura Capital, explained the firm’s conviction behind the investment: “StirlingX represents a unique combination of establishment trust, technical expertise and execution excellence. The utilisation of powerful data intelligence has become a must for Government and corporates, and increasingly so within a sovereign-secure framework. StirlingX is the trusted solution for Five Eyes and beyond.”
