Stockholm-based AI startup Endra has secured $50 million in Series A funding to accelerate the development of its AI-powered platform for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineering design.

The funding round was led by Andreessen Horowitz, with participation from Notion Capital and Norrsken VC.

Founded by Niklas Lindgren, Anton Juric, David Rydberg, and Gustav Hammarlund, Endra is tackling one of the construction industry’s most complex and labor-intensive challenges: designing and documenting building systems efficiently while meeting increasingly demanding regulatory and performance requirements.

Bringing AI To The $150 Billion MEP Market

Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering represents a critical component of every modern building project, yet much of the design process remains highly manual, time-consuming, and dependent on specialized expertise.

Endra aims to transform this workflow through artificial intelligence, enabling engineering teams to automate significant portions of the building design process while improving speed, accuracy, and consistency.

The company operates in the global MEP services market, a sector valued at more than $150 billion annually and increasingly facing pressure from labor shortages, project complexity, and rising construction demands.

Automating Complex Engineering Workflows

Endra’s platform integrates directly with industry-standard design software and building information modeling (BIM) environments.

By ingesting existing building model files and reconstructing projects in a detailed 3D environment, the platform can automate traditionally manual engineering tasks, including system design, equipment placement, documentation, and model generation.

The company combines artificial intelligence, computational geometry, and advanced design automation to help engineers complete projects faster while maintaining compliance with industry standards and building regulations.

The goal is not to replace engineers but to eliminate repetitive work, allowing design teams to focus on higher-value engineering decisions and project optimization.

Funding To Accelerate Global Expansion

The newly secured capital will support Endra’s next phase of growth as the company expands its engineering, product, and commercial teams across Stockholm, New York, and San Francisco.

The funding will also be used to accelerate product development and strengthen the company’s position as demand grows for AI-powered solutions within the architecture, engineering, and construction sectors.

As digital transformation continues to reshape the construction industry, Endra believes AI-driven design automation will become a core part of future engineering workflows.

Founder Perspective

Niklas Lindgren, Co-Founder of Endra, said:

“Building design remains one of the largest untapped opportunities for AI. Engineering teams spend countless hours on repetitive design and documentation tasks that can be automated. Our mission is to give engineers powerful tools that dramatically increase productivity while improving the quality and efficiency of building design.”
