Stavanger-based airport technology company Roboxi has secured approximately €13 million through a new share issue to accelerate the development of its autonomous airside operations platform.

The financing attracted strong participation from both existing and new investors, primarily from Norway’s Rogaland region. The company plans to use the capital to support expansion, strengthen its balance sheet, and accelerate commercial growth.

Bringing AI And Robotics To Airport Infrastructure

Founded in 2018, Roboxi develops autonomous systems designed for airport airside operations, including runway, taxiway, and apron inspection and maintenance.

Its platform combines AI, robotics, cameras, and automation to improve operational safety, reduce manual workloads, and strengthen compliance with aviation regulations.

The company’s technology is capable of detecting and removing Foreign Object Debris (FOD), monitoring runway conditions in real time, identifying lighting failures, and automating maintenance workflows through integration with airport infrastructure systems.

Roboxi also deploys continuous bird detection and deterrence systems aimed at reducing wildlife-related operational risks at airports.

Expanding Deployment Across International Airports

One of the company’s major milestones includes the development of what it describes as the world’s first AI-powered FOD detection and collection system, created in collaboration with Avinor and the Norwegian Civil Aviation Authority.

Its technology has already been tested or deployed at several international airports, including Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, Frankfurt Airport, Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, Florence Airport, and Stavanger Airport.

Scaling Operations And Innovation

CEO Magnus O. Finnesand described the funding as an important step in the company’s expansion strategy.

“The successful completion of this financing round represents a significant milestone for Roboxi,” Finnesand said.

“The new capital allows us to scale operations, execute on existing and upcoming contracts, strengthen our market position, and continue investing in innovation.”
