Quantum Bridge Technologies has secured $8 million in Series A financing to accelerate deployment of its quantum-resistant cybersecurity solutions for enterprises and public sector organisations.
The round was led by Primo Capital SGR and included participation from investors such as Wayra (Telefónica), Cadenza VC, Club degli Investitori angels, HPE, and Bacchus Venture Capital. Founded in 2019 by Mattia Montagna and Hoi-Kwong Lo, the company develops security infrastructure designed to protect digital communications against emerging threats linked to quantum computing.
What The Company Does
Quantum Bridge develops quantum-safe cryptographic technologies aimed at securing digital infrastructure as advances in quantum computing threaten existing encryption methods.
At the centre of the company’s platform is its patented Distributed Symmetric Key Establishment (DSKE) protocol, which enables organisations to create and manage encryption keys through a decentralised architecture. According to the company, this reduces reliance on centralised key distribution systems, lowering single points of failure while improving scalability and long-term resilience.
The platform is designed to integrate into existing IT and cybersecurity environments without requiring major infrastructure replacement. This allows organisations to introduce quantum-resistant protections gradually across communications networks and security layers while maintaining operational continuity.
Market Context / Industry Background
Concerns around quantum computing’s future ability to break widely used cryptographic standards are driving increased investment into post-quantum cybersecurity technologies. Governments, telecommunications providers, financial institutions, and infrastructure operators are increasingly preparing for the long-term transition toward quantum-safe encryption frameworks.
The challenge for many organisations lies in modernising security infrastructure without disrupting existing systems or creating operational complexity. As a result, companies developing interoperable and scalable cryptographic solutions are gaining attention from both enterprise customers and institutional investors.
The sector is also being shaped by growing national security concerns, particularly around the protection of sensitive communications and critical infrastructure against future cryptographic vulnerabilities.
Founder / Investor Commentary
Co-founder and CEO Mattia Montagna said the company’s focus is on bringing quantum-safe protection into operational environments before quantum-related risks become immediate threats.
“National security can’t wait for perfect conditions,” he said.
Montagna added that Quantum Bridge is building systems designed to function within existing network environments while strengthening long-term protection for sensitive communications infrastructure. According to the company, the latest funding will help accelerate deployment among organisations seeking practical quantum-resilient security solutions.
Growth Plans / Use Of Funds
The new capital will support global expansion of Quantum Bridge’s commercial operations and accelerate adoption of its cybersecurity platform across enterprise and government markets.
The company plans to continue developing its cryptographic infrastructure and broaden integrations with existing network and security environments. With the latest round, Quantum Bridge’s total funding has now reached approximately $16 million.
