London-based AI startup Ethos has secured $22.75 million in Series A funding in a round led by Andreessen Horowitz.
The round also included participation from General Catalyst, Evantic, and XTX Markets. The latest raise follows a previous $3.25 million Seed round, bringing the company’s total funding to approximately $30 million.

Founded by Daniel Mankowitz, formerly of Google DeepMind, and James Lo, previously with McKinsey and SoftBank Vision Fund, Ethos is developing an AI-powered platform designed to connect specialised talent with consulting and employment opportunities.
The platform combines voice-based AI interviews with analysis of candidates’ research papers, GitHub projects, publications, and professional work to build detailed expertise profiles.
Ethos then matches candidates with roles across sectors including finance, healthcare, law, technology, AI research, and skilled trades.

The company positions itself as a next-generation talent infrastructure platform designed for an economy increasingly shaped by AI transformation.
Rather than relying solely on traditional CVs and static credentials, the firm aims to create deeper, context-driven evaluations of professional expertise and capabilities.
Its system automates expert discovery, candidate assessment, and opportunity matching for enterprises, AI labs, and investment firms seeking highly specialised talent.
Expanding Global Talent Networks
The newly raised capital will be used to improve Ethos’ AI agent capabilities, expand its international talent network, and strengthen partnerships with enterprise customers and AI research organisations.
According to CEO James Lo, traditional resumes fail to capture the full depth of an individual’s expertise and potential.
He said Ethos is designed to help professionals unlock broader consulting, advisory, and employment opportunities while giving companies more precise ways to identify specialised talent in a rapidly evolving labour market.
