Decade Energy, a company building integrated energy infrastructure for logistics depots, has raised €22 million in a funding round led by Eiffel Investment Group and SET Ventures, with participation from existing investors.

The company develops and operates power systems for electric truck fleets, addressing one of the main bottlenecks in transport electrification: access to reliable grid capacity.

What The Company Does

Decade Energy designs, finances, and operates end-to-end energy infrastructure for logistics sites transitioning to electric fleets. Its systems combine grid connections, battery energy storage systems (BESS), EV charging infrastructure, solar installations, and software that optimises energy usage across depots.

The company uses a zero-CapEx model, allowing logistics property owners to access the required energy infrastructure without upfront investment. In return, site operators benefit from stable rental income and potential revenue streams linked to participation in energy markets through battery storage assets.

By integrating hardware and software into a single system, Decade Energy aims to simplify the deployment of charging infrastructure for electric trucks while improving cost efficiency and energy reliability.

Market context / industry background

Truck electrification is increasingly constrained not by vehicle supply, but by energy infrastructure limitations. Logistics depots often face long grid connection delays, limited available capacity, and fragmented on-site energy systems that make large-scale electrification difficult.

Across Europe, logistics operators are under pressure to decarbonise fleets while maintaining operational efficiency. However, energy access has become a critical bottleneck, particularly in high-demand transport corridors where grid upgrades are slow and capital-intensive.

This has driven demand for integrated infrastructure solutions that combine charging, storage, and renewable generation into a single managed system capable of stabilising energy supply and reducing dependence on immediate grid expansion.

Founder / investor commentary

Casper Norden, CEO and co-founder of Decade Energy, said the company is building the software, energy systems, and organisational capacity needed to support logistics depots more comprehensively across Europe.

He noted that the funding enables Decade Energy to accelerate the transformation of logistics sites into dedicated energy hubs for electric road transport, aligning infrastructure development with the growing demands of fleet electrification.

Growth plans / use of funds

A €16 million commitment from Eiffel Investment Group, via its Eiffel Transition Infrastructure fund, will be used to support the deployment of energy projects, including a planned portfolio of at least 100MW of battery energy storage systems across France. This represents approximately €50 million in total capital expenditure financing.

The remainder of the funding, led by SET Ventures with continued participation from Contrarian Ventures and Ananda Impact Ventures, will support product development and expansion into additional European markets.

This includes advancing the company’s energy optimisation software, developing new EV charging and solar solutions, and expanding its team to support broader deployment across logistics networks.
