London-based startup Round Treasury has raised €5.1 million ($6 million) in seed funding to expand its AI-powered platform for modern finance teams.
Alongside the funding, the company introduced two new products: an Agentic Workflow Builder and an Autonomous Payroll solution.
The round was led by Alstin Capital, with participation from Backed VC and Love Ventures. Around 10% of Round’s existing customers also invested, alongside angel investor Paul Forster. Existing backers, including Passion Capital and early investors in Monzo, Tide, and GoCardless, also participated.
From Manual Workflows To Autonomous Finance
Founded in 2023 by Pac O’Shea and Hayyaan Ahmad, the startup is building an AI-driven platform designed to eliminate manual finance operations.
The platform combines treasury management, accounts payable, and payroll into a single automated system, helping finance teams reduce repetitive tasks and operate more efficiently.
Despite widespread adoption of finance software, many teams still rely on disconnected tools—approving invoices in one system, executing payments through bank portals, managing contractors via email, and reconciling transactions in spreadsheets.
AI That Executes, Not Just Assists
While many AI tools in finance act as copilots or analytics layers, Round focuses on execution. Its platform integrates directly with financial infrastructure, including payment rails, wallets, and treasury systems, as well as existing banks and ERP software.
Finance teams set rules—such as approval thresholds, payment schedules, and cash limits—while the platform handles execution automatically. This includes:
- Processing payments
- Managing payroll cycles
- Generating yield on idle cash
- Syncing all activity with accounting systems
Built For Scale And Compliance
Round places strong emphasis on security and regulatory compliance. The platform is ISO 27001:2022 certified and works exclusively with FCA-regulated financial partners.
Every transaction is logged with a full audit trail, ensuring transparency and control over financial operations.
Growing Adoption Among High-Growth Companies
The platform is already used by fast-growing European companies, including Cleo and PostHog, highlighting its relevance for scaling businesses.
Backing The Future Of Finance Teams
Co-founder Pac O’Shea emphasised that the company is focused on automating the operational workload rather than replacing finance leaders, while Hayyaan Ahmad highlighted the growing importance of automation as companies scale and complexity increases.
